When I Close My Eyes

I created this piece to resemble mindfulness and reflection. When I close my eyes, I see darkness with white specks of light and bricks from the apartment I grew up in. Closing my eyes can either take me back to move me forward to creating visuals I've never seen before. In this case, it was a nice trip to the past. I felt like a red man was more powerful to paint in this image than my actual self. It radiates this sense of warmth and courage or alertness even when his eyes are closed.
